Burgerliscious returned again this year for another night full of burgers in the heart of Coral Gables. Thankfully, I was able to nab a VIP pass on LivingSocial for about half the price, which meant unlimited tastings, dessert, and booze. Baby Shower Cupcakes!
A little ongoing project that I had for the past couple of weeks was making cupcakes for a baby shower. The anticipated head count was 75 people, which was more than I have ever made in a single go. But, when a friend asks for a favor for such a special occasion, one simply cannot refuse. Little did they know that I also planned on surprising them with a hand-made cupcake tower to present the cupcakes on. (more…)

PeruFest USA 2013
Have I mentioned that I LOVE Peruvian food? Yes? Well, I’ll say it again anyway! PeruFest 2013 billed itself as a gastronomic adventure throughout the different regions of Peru. Since I’d had a pretty good time at the Peruvian Independence Day Festival a few months ago (and, since there was a Groupon out for this one), I decided to check it out. Peruvian Independence Day Festival 2013
July 28th marks the anniversary of Peru’s independence from Spain, which they won in 1821. The annual Peruvian Independence Day Festival promised a gastronomically enlightening tour of Peruvian culture. That also meant plenty of ceviche to go around. (more…)

Riverwalk Trust Burger Battle 2013
Burger Battle is easily one of the annual food events that I look forward to the most. And, why not? You basically get to walk around, sampling burgers from numerous restaurants competing for the title of “Best Burger”, and then vote for your favorite. And, as if that wasn’t enough, there is also a French fry bar (catered by Capital Grille this year) and a dessert bar (catered by Susie’s Scrumptious Sweets). So, with an open mind and empty stomach, I ventured forth into the burger bliss! (more…)
